If you’re interested in farming but not quite ready to start, SILT has resources to help you learn and prepare. We know that starting a farm can feel overwhelming, and we’re here to support you along the way.

SILT works with groups like Practical Farmers of Iowa, Marbleseed, and the Land Stewardship Project to connect you with training and information. These programs can help you:

  • Learn sustainable farming skills from experienced farmers.
  • Plan a successful farm business.
  • Find the right markets to sell your food.
  • Meet other farmers and learn from their experiences.

SILT also shares workshops, webinars, and field days where you can get hands-on experience and stay up to date with new farming ideas.

If you want to stay informed about available farms, upcoming events, and helpful resources, you can fill out our Farm Seeker Survey, sign up for our newsletter, or follow us on social media. Even if you’re not ready to farm yet, staying connected will help you prepare for the future.

We’re here to help you take the next steps when you’re ready!
