Ace Farm

Originally owned by T.C. and Bob Winchell, Ace Farm, currently known as Grade A Gardens, embodies a legacy of stewardship and commitment to sustainable agriculture. Situated in the tranquil countryside of Earlham, Iowa, this land holds a rich history of agricultural tradition.

The Winchell Legacy:

T.C. and Bob Winchell’s dedication to preserving agricultural land is a cornerstone of Ace Farm’s heritage. Seeking to maintain the solemnity of the Bear Creek Quaker Meeting, T.C. Winchell purchased 25 acres of land in Earlham. In accordance with her wishes, Bob Winchell, her husband and executor of the estate, protected the land with a conservation easement through the Sustainable Iowa Land Trust (SILT), ensuring its perpetuation for future generations.

A New Chapter:

In a testament to their commitment to sustainable agriculture, Jordan and Whitney Clasen, owners of Grade A Gardens, recognized the potential of Ace Farm. With a shared vision of stewardship and environmental responsibility, they purchased the protected land from the Winchells, embracing the opportunity to continue its legacy of sustainable farming practices.

Preserving Agricultural Heritage:

The establishment of a conservation easement in 2020 solidified Ace Farm’s dedication to agriculture and environmental conservation. Under the stewardship of Jordan and Whitney Clasen, Grade A Gardens continues to flourish as a hub of sustainable agriculture, offering a diverse array of organic produce to the community.

Empowering Sustainable Agriculture:

Grade A Gardens serves as a beacon of sustainable farming, fostering connections between consumers and the land through community-supported agriculture (CSA) networks and partnerships with local markets and restaurants. Jordan and Whitney are dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious food while upholding the principles of environmental stewardship.

A Bright Future:

As Ace Farm enters this new chapter under the ownership of Jordan and Whitney Clasen, it symbolizes the potential for sustainable agriculture to thrive. Through education, outreach, and a steadfast commitment to responsible land management, Grade A Gardens is shaping a greener, more resilient agricultural landscape.
