In addition to appearing on a panel discussion about land transfer with SILT Adviser and Poet Laureate Mary Swander and Principle Financial’s Jolena Irving, SILT President Suzan Erem was joined by fellow board members Paul Durrenberger, Denise O’Brien (WFAN founder) and Sheila Knoploh-Odole in enjoying workshops that ranged from bat box building to eco-feminism.

One landowner is interested in donating her 40 acres and a number of others wanted to discuss land donations later. At least four new people committed to attending SILT’s first birthday Nov. 12.

SILT sponsored the annual event along with allies including the Iowa Farmers Union, American Farmland Trust, USDA, Trees Forever and Principle Financial.
